Trek, Thom won the
Emmy® Award for ‘Outstanding
Individual Achievement in Makeup.’ His work has
been featured on the covers of Fangoria, Rue Morgue Magazine
and in the pages of Men's Health Magazine and
Inside Motorcross. He is a licensed
cosmetologist, makeup products specialist, and owner
of Thom Surprenant Creations.
Thom has been part of two Academy Award-winning makeup crews.
Most recently he has worked on X-Men 3, Vacancy,
and Big Fish. He has provided special
prosthetic paint for The Santa Claus 1-3, The
Scorpion King, Terminator 3, and The Lord of
the Rings Trilogy.
Thom has a long list of TV and movie credits. Some
of the more “high profile” projects include such TV
shows as Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Strong
Medicine, Providence, Star Trek: Next Generation,
Deep Space Nine, Voyager, and Enterprise.
Movie Credits include: Vacancy, X-Men III (The Last Stand),
Big Fish, Frida, The Scorpion King, A.I., Riding In
Cars With Boys, Donnie Darko, The Grinch Who Stole
Christmas, The Dead Hate The Living, Charlie’s
Angels, Unglued, Halloween H2O (Halloween 7), The

Celebrities Thom has worked with read like a “who’s
who” in Hollywood. Brad Pitt, Hilary Swank, David
Duchovny, Woody Harrelson, Vincent Gallo, Chris
Rock, Gary Busy, F. Murray Abraham, Rutger Hauer,
Ellen Degeneres, Michael Madsen, Luke Perry, Danny
Glover, and Mike Farrell are just a few of the
hundreds of stars Thom has transformed through
makeup.
Top makeup artists Thom has
worked with include Ve Neill, Michael Westmore, Kevin Haney, Greg Cannom, Ed French,
David Miller, Steve LaPorte, and Kenny Myers.
When it comes to makeup, Thom believes that the
rules are constantly changing. “Since the beginning,
the Entertainment Industry has relied on us to
create bigger and grander makeup creations. To
deliver the best product, a true artist must always
continue to learn. If you think you’ve learned
everything you can from makeup, you run the risk of
becoming stagnant." |
